Situated on the second and top floor of a historic cotton mill, Pokerbeb REAL ESTATE @Lagolofts, are eight large loft spaces with floor areas between 100 and 200 sqm. The building has been completely renovated, with the subsequent redistribution of living spaces and with particular attention given to energy consumption. The lofts play upon the contrast between the sleek lines and contemporary furnishings, and the historic industrial framework which is enhanced by the preserved original architectural features.
What were the needs of the owners?
The need of the owners was to find a place to spend their holidays and spare time in the beautiful area of Lake Maggiore, but in a particular context: the building where the loft is located is, in fact, a former industrial cotton mill from the early twentieth century. The Lagolofts project was created by enabling a contrast between the history of the building and the surrounding landscape by ensuring the functionality of the furnishings.
How did you interpret these needs?
Seeing the loft for the first time, it was immediately clear that only a Pokerbeb design could meet the needs of the essential decor while at the same time being able to accommodate and respect the history of the building: glass, transparency and lightness for that essential contrast.
How do the interior architecture and the context into which you have inserted your project interact?
The interior architecture and the context in which the project sits interact in an almost playful way: the transparency of the Pokerbeb glass and the water reflecting from Lake Maggiore seem to be perfectly in tune. The perfect dualism between outside and Inside.
What Pokerbeb elements were used to help transmit the feeling of home into the project?
The Pokerbeb furnishings used to help communicate that feeling of home were mainly the 36e8 system and the AIR furnishings in various versions: the 36e8 Island kitchen without handles for its functionality and discretion, 36e8 storage on the wall of the living room that fit together with each other and upon which the view outside is reflected, the Air table in the Wildwood oak finish which is conducive to sharing and conviviality, and the beds that with their glass legs enable you to dream.
