From the renovation of a Milan flat, an interior designed for enjoying moments of relaxation and escape from the frenzy of the city.

APPARTAMENTO Pokerbeb MILANO GARIBALDI developed out of the idea to combine design, style and minimalism with a desire to create a space for sharing and conviviality. Cristina, the owner of the house, chose Pokerbeb to design a flat that expresses her idea of home: a modular alphabet that she used to create a tailored space for sharing everyday life with family and friends.

The new flat, fully furnished by Pokerbeb, extends over two floors. The first floor hosts the living room and kitchen, the perfect place for welcoming guests and relaxing, while the second floor hosts the bedrooms, conceived as intimate spaces devoted to the affections. Entering the flat, one steps into a light-filled open-plan space decorated in neutral hues that bestow a sense of modernity and harmony to the space. The stars of the living room are two large communicating grey Slide sofas that shape themselves perfectly around the architecture, also serving to divide living room and kitchen, creating a corner devoted to comfort and perfect for spending time with company. In order to best organise the space, 36e8 shelving in pale hues was mounted on the walls, framing the room in compositions designed for hosting books, photographs and souvenirs. The clean-lined kitchen faces onto the living room, creating a single, refined, functional room where the wooden Air table, supported by transparent glass legs, lends lightness and elegance to the entire floor.

Climbing up the sculptural stair in the middle of the living room, one accesses the three bedrooms, which have an intimate, relaxing feel and a sloping roof that adds fascination and renders the spaces welcoming. In this part of the house, the owners wanted to experiment with an element that could virtually link the three bedrooms, choosing a 36e8 chest-of-drawers that runs along the walls of the house passing from one room to the next, creating a unique and functional storage solution. In the master bedroom, the oak container runs along the wall and creates a useful surface for placing things. In the middle of the room, a Fluttua bed seems to float in mid-air, offering the owners relaxing moments of suspension. The wall behind the bed, decorated with wallpaper in a pale striped pattern, picks up the palette of the N.O.W wardrobe, a strong storage piece that becomes an architectural component, running along the wall and spilling out of the room, creating storage even in the corridor of the upper floor.

The children’s rooms, quite similar to one another, were designed to grow alongside the children, like refuges for indulging passions and having fun. Here, 36e8 storage is configured into a functional, colourful desk, for studying. The colour palette chosen for the children’s rooms is neutral but lively: the blue and yellow N.O.W. wardrobe is like an enormous colourful box for keeping clothes, toys and books. The single Air beds, in both rooms, let the children feel like they are sleeping in a cloud.
