THE PRINCIPLE OF A LEVER, APPLIED TO SHELVING
Designer Daniele Lago - 2002Find more
Statica wall shelving is supported by the lever principle: the shelves are simply inserted into the axis and oriented to the right or the left.
No wall attachment is needed and the height of the shelves can be changed by moving them up or down the central axis.
The extreme formal rigour of the design makes this shelving the star of the room.
The only part anchored to the wall is the central axis of the bookcase, which is attached to the wall at the ends.
The shelves seem to be suspended almost by magic, but in reality the system is based on the lever principle.
Applying the lever principle to a wall-mounted bookcase: this is the innovative power of the Statica design.
